In my youth, I always believed that reaching out was both an expression and an act of faith. The promise of hope, even if broken, could never be negated—it would only be altered for the better. But as I grew older, my self-doubt began to take root. Despite my best efforts, my expectations wouldn't materialize, just as they hadn't before.
Now, reflecting on all that has been written in these four essays, I realize it's not enough merely to reflect—though it can't be done without reflection. The ability to hold a vision for the future is crucial, and sometimes that vision seems too distant to reach out to—until the time comes when you're truly committed to your goals.
For some, this is an insurmountable wall, one that only those willing to face it head-on can surmount. For others, even this wall becomes a source of inspiration and motivation. Each choice we make carries weight, both in the moment and long-term. But as long as we choose our path forward, whether it's rising up from the ashes or reaching out for something greater than ourselves, that will be enough.
Let us not falter when facing the stars—neither do we want to fall into their trap either. For just as I've been holding onto hope in this essay, so too will my future be illuminated by it. In the moment, let's rise high and aim for our aspirations—a vision that may seem too far, but is within reach when we face it.
So hold on to that star that points straight up—your ideal—and don't stop fighting until you see what truly can be achieved.
